Fight result: On July 11th, in the Mandalay Events Center, Las Vegas, NV, In just 2:36 of the first round, Shannon put Matt Grice to sleep with a well place Guillotine choke. This puts Shannon at 2 and 1 in the Octagon.

07:19:2008 Shannon Victorious in UFC Debut
Shannon Defeats former undefeated fighter Dale Hartt with a rear naked choke in the 1st round in the opening bout in UFC Fight Night.
Shannon mounted Hartt relatively early, and when Hartt rolled to try and escape, Shannon attacked his neck. After a rather lengthy battle, Gugerty finally sunk in the choke and Hartt tapped at the 3:33 mark of the first round.
